Miami Township, OH : Pedestrian struck and killed by a truck on East Miami River Road near Jordan Road on Monday evening, Nov 2, 2015

A man walking on the side of the road with his bike was struck and killed by a truck in Miami Township Monday evening.

A 1994 Ford F-250 driven by Robert Oliver, 39, of Cleves, was traveling north on East Miami River Road near Jordan Road when it struck Joseph Mundy, 33, of Cincinnati around 6:18 p.m.,according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Mundy was pushing a bicycle up an incline in the road when he was struck.

Authorities at the scene initially called for a medical helicopter before taking Mundy to Good Samaritan Western Ridge Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 7:10 p.m., according to emergency communications.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in this crash, according to the sheriff's office. The crash is under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit.
