Birstol County, MA : Man killed in Fairhaven accident at the intersection of Sconticut Neck Road and Gilbert Street on Saturday night, November 1, 2014

A Fairhaven man is dead after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night. The Birstol County District ATTORNEY'S OFFICE says the accident happened around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Sconticut Neck Road and Gilbert Street. The victim, identified as David McManus, 53, of Fairhaven, was found lying on the ground unconscious before he was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The operator of the vehicle that struck McManus called police shortly after 10 p.m. The DA's Office says the vehicle was seized and that the driver was questioned by police. No charges have been filed. The incident is still being INVESTIGATED, but police do not believe alcohol was a factor. Source : Man killed in Fairhaven accident
