PROVO, UT : Woman sentenced in DUI crash that killed 4-month-old on Wednesday, January 18th 2017
A Utah woman charged with driving drunk in a crash that killed a 4-month-old girl who was sitting unrestrained on her mother's lap has been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
Chelsea Fuller, of Orem, pleaded guilty Wednesday to automobile homicide and driving under the influence as part of a plea deal. The 30-year-old woman was ordered to serve consecutive prison sentences of zero to five years for each charge related to the August crash.
Records show Fuller was driving Susanne McClellan and Mclellan's infant daughter, Brylee, home when she veered off the road, struck a tree and tipped over in Provo. The child was taken to a hospital and died.
McClellan will be arraigned Tuesday on charges of obstructing justice and negligent homicide.
