Portland, OR : Man and dog killed in southeast Portland park crash early wednesday morning, October 29, 2014
A man and dog died after the driver's car crashed into a large tree in a park early this morning.
Just after 5 a.m. Portland Police arrived on scene of an accident at SE 155th Ave. and Main St. where they found a man and his dog dead.
The driver killed this morning has been identified as 30-year-old Leo Luke Limbrunner. Investigators determined that Limbrunner was driving too fast in his 1998 Mercedes eastbound on SE Main St. just past 151st Ave.
He failed to follow the road and crashed into Parklane City Park where he hit several trees before coming to a stop.
The car struck several trees before crashing into a larger tree in Parklane City Park. It appears the car rolled over during the accident, but it was upright when medical personnel arrived.
In the vehicle, investigators found evidence that Limbrunner was "huffing" inhalants prior to the accident.
The Traffic Division's Major Crash Team is investigating this crash.
