Lithia, FL : Two women dead after wrong-way crash in eastern Hillsborough County on Friday morning, March 18, 2016

Two women were killed in a three-car crash Friday morning in eastern Hillsborough, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Shaquada Nicole Johnson, 36, of Lakeland, and Jennifer Arlene Connor, 36, of Wimauma died at the scene on County Road 39 south of Lewis Road, troopers said. Another driver, William Lee Keen, 47, of Babson Park was uninjured.

Just before 9 a.m., Johnson was driving south on County Road 39 when her 2009 Dodge Charger traveled into the northbound lane, the FHP said. Troopers said they're not sure why she veered in the wrong lane. The left side of her car hit the left rear tire of Keen's truck, which was traveling north. Johnson continued driving the wrong way and hit the front of Connor's car.

FHP records show troopers do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
