Marietta, GA : Motorcyclist dies in crash with Cobb County Transit bus in suburban Atlanta on Wednesday, NOV 4, 2015

Police say a motorcyclist has died in a crash with a transit bus in suburban Atlanta.

Marietta police spokesman David Baldwin tells local news media that the crash occurred about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday when a Cobb County Transit bus attempted to turn left into the transit depot and collided with the motorcycle.

Baldwin did not know which vehicle had the right away before the crash.

Baldwin says the motorcycle and the back of the bus caught on fire at the intersection of South Marietta Parkway and Aviation Road.

Police say the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the person has not been released.

Baldwin says the driver of the bus was taken to the hospital. There were no other passengers on the bus.
