Detroit, MI : Shelby Township man dies in motorcycle crash on the Lodge freeway early Saturday morning, July 9, 2016

A 21-year-old Shelby Township man died early Saturday morning when the motorcycle he was driving crashed on the Lodge freeway, according to Michigan State Police.

The deceased man was not identified pending notification of his family.

The man was riding at a “very high rate of speed” on southbound M-10 at 12:10 a.m. when it failed to “negotiate the curve” while trying to exit at Wyoming Avenue and crashed, MSP says in a news release. The victim was thrown from the vehicle and landed “a considerable distance” from the motorcycle, the release says.
