Vernon, VT : Malone man dies after being hit by car in State Route 37 south of County Saturday September 10 2016

A Malone man is dead after being hit by a car early Saturday.

It happened around 12 a.m on State Route 37 just south of County Route 51 in Malone. Police say 27 year-old Alan Hemingway of Chateaugay was driving north when he ran into 29 year-old Thomas Boyea II and two friends walking on the shoulder of the road. Boyea was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. One of the friends was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

Police say the cause of this crash remains under investigation.
