Chicago, IL : Man killed in hit-and-run crash near Eisenhower Expressway south of Columbus Park on Wednesday, 17th July 2019

One person was found dead near the Eisenhower Expressway on Chicago’s West Side in what investigators believe was a hit-and-run.
Chicago police were called about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday to the 800 block of South Central Avenue, in The Island neighborhood, just off Interstate 290, to the south of Columbus Park. Officers were responding to a call of a person down in the street, and when they arrived they found a man in his 40s lying unresponsive in the street, according to the department.
“The victim appears to have been struck by a vehicle,” Chicago police wrote in a media notification.
The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No witnesses had been located by investigating officers, and no arrests had been made, authorities said.
