Knoxville, TN : Charges pending in fatal South Knox County crash on Sunday, February 12th 2017
A Seymour woman was killed in a single-car crash Sunday night in South Knox County, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
Ronnie Sue Lowe, 58, died in the wreck, which happened on Stock Creek Road around 9:30 p.m., according to a KCSO news release.
Lowe, 58, was a passenger in a 2003 Pontiac driven by 55-year-old Pauline Sue Tyra of South Creek Road when the car left the road and went airborne, crashing into a tree, the release states.
Tyra was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
Traffic unit officers with the Sheriff's Office say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, and that charges are pending against Tryra, the release states.
Neither woman was wearing a seat belt, according to KCSO.
