Cincinnati ,OH : One child injured and Cincinnati mother faces charges after drunken driving crash on Saturday night ,May 30th 2015
A Cincinnati mother faces a child endangering charge after police say she crashed her car with her son in the back seat Saturday night while driving under the influence of alcohol.
Rebecca Espelage, 29, of West Price Hill, was arrested around 8 p.m. Saturday night after she wrecked her car in the 1400 block of Need Road, according to arrest records.
Police charged Espelage with failure to control and operating a vehicle under the influence after a urine test showed she had a blood alcohol content of .11 percent, court records state.
Espelage was also charged with endangering children when police found her 4-year-old son wedged between the back of the front passenger seat and rear seat, records show.
Police said the child was in a car seat, but the seat was not secure.
The child suffered facial injuries that included a cut to his lip and swelling to his face and head, according to records.
Espelage is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning. She is currently being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center without bond.
