A 29-year-old Bedias man was charged with drunken driving after authorities said he caused a three-vehicle crash that shut down part of Texas 30 on Friday.
The man's 2000 Mitsubishi passenger car rear-ended a 1995 Chevy pickup, causing it to spin and strike a 2008 Chevy pickup, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper.
Inside the passenger car, troopers found two open containers of malt liquor, investigators said.
The occupants in the other vehicles refused treatment, but the driver of the Mitsubishi was treated for a back injury at the College Station Medical Center before being transported to the Brazos County jail.
He was charged with his second DWI, which is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail. He was previously convicted of driving under the influence in Wyoming in 2009, according to the probable cause affidavit for his arrest.
The driver remained behind bars Saturday in lieu of $5,000 bail.
