HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL : Fiery Hillsborough crash kills Central Florida man, splits car in half on Sunday, 17th November, 2019
A Central Florida man was killed early Sunday morning after his vehicle left Interstate 275 and hit a tree head-on, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.
FHP reported that just before 4 a.m., Cliff J. Pierre Jacques, 32, of Wesley Chapel, was traveling north on I-275, at mile marker 55 near Bearss Avenue, when his 2013 BMW 4-door sedan left the highway at a high rate of speed.
After failing to negotiate curvature in the roadway, the BMW left the eastern side of I-275 and collided with a tree. The force of the impact split the vehicle in half and it burst into flames, disintegrating the sedan.
Jacques was pronounced dead at the scene.
