Hermosa,SD : Three people die from injuries in Black Hills crash on February, Saturday 10th 2018
Three people now have died of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday morning, Feb. 3, east of Hermosa in the Black Hills.
They have been identified as Gregory Fayson, 44, Rapid City; Paul Fast Wolf, 34, Pine Ridge; and Matilda Waters, 47, Pine Ridge. They were the only people involved in the crash.
A 2006 Chevrolet Uplander was westbound on South Dakota Highway 40 when the vehicle drifted off the roadway and the driver, Gregory Fayson, lost control. The vehicle eventually went across both lanes of the roadway, into the south ditch and rolled.
Both passengers were ejected from the vehicle. The driver remained in the vehicle.
All three were taken to Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Matilda Waters died Sunday, Feb. 4; Paul Fast Wolf died Feb. 5 and Gregory Fayson died on Feb. 7.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt. It is unknown whether the passengers were wearing seatbelts.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
