Las Vegas, NV : Pedestrian hit and killed by pickup truck on Eastern Avenue on Thursday, February 18, 2016

A pedestrian was hit by a pickup truck and killed Thursday on Eastern Avenue, north of Reno Avenue, according to Metro Police.

The 58-year-old Las Vegas man, who was not in a crosswalk or at an intersection, walked into the path of the truck, police said. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

His name was not released, pending notification of family members.

The man driving the truck and a 9-year-old passenger were not hurt, police said. The incident is under investigation.
