Three Central Oregon residents were killed in two different vehicle crashes Saturday night, according to Oregon State Police.
At 5:24 p.m., OSP troopers and emergency responders were summoned to a crash on state Highway 22 west of Detroit. A westbound vehicle driven by William Harold Bodden, 84, of Redmond, had crossed the center line and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Joyce A. Mast, 51, of Hillsboro.
Bodden’s passenger, Diane Theresa Bodden, 77, of Redmond, died at the scene. William Bodden died while being transported by air ambulance. Mast survived, and was admitted to Salem Hospital with serious injuries.
Separately, Braden Glen Fillmore, 20, of Bend, died in a single vehicle crash in Malheur County. Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the crash about 30 miles northwest of Burns Junction at 9:02 p.m.
Fillmore was driving east on state Highway 78 when he apparently drifted off the right shoulder of the road, overcorrected and crossed the center line, rolling off the west side of the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
