A young couple were both killed in a car crash early Sunday morning on Bridge Street in Lowell, where a memorial to the two victims has been set up.Family and friends left flowers and notes at the scene outside the Burger King. A vigil was also held there Sunday night to remember Victoria Valente and Justin Fisher, both 22.
The couple was heading home from a friend's birthday party when police said the driver lost control of the car and slammed into a telephone pole. The car then flipped over and caught fire.
Friends described Valente and Fisher as "soulmates" who had been dating since they were sophomores in high school. They had been planning to move to New York together.
She made me feel anything was possible and that's truly what I want her to be remembered as," said Valente's father John Valente.
