Lebanon, OR : Woman dies in rollover crash on Highway 34 near Lebanon on Monday morning, September 1, 2014
A woman died after she was thrown from her SUV early Monday morning when it rolled on Highway 34 near Lebanon, Oregon State Police said.
Officials said a 27-year-old woman was driving her Nissan Pathfinder east on the highway when around 3 a.m. Monday she crossed the center line, went into the ditch on the other side of the road and corrected back to the pavement.
The vehicle went into a roll, coming to a stop on its side along the south side of the highway near the Denny School Road intersection.
State Police investigators said the driver was thrown from the car; they believe she wasn't wearing a seat belt.
A passerby reported the crash at 3:50 a.m. Monday. Emergency staff pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Troopers closed the highway for six and a half hours to investigate the crash. Officials said the road was reopened at around 10:20 a.m.
