Friends, family mourn motorcyclist killed in Meridianville in Tennessee

Authorities believe the crash happened when 23-year-old Joshua Maples of Hazel Green, missed a sharp curve in the road on Patterson Lane. They believe he kept going straight instead and was thrown off his bike.A Sheriff's deputy found his body around 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning, but the Madison County Coroner said he believes the wreck occurred just after 1 a.m.More than two dozen of Maples' friends came out to the crash scene Sunday afternoon. They retraced the wreck over and over trying to make sense of the tragic accident."It's not true. I've got to see it. I want to see it before I believe it. I still don't think it's true right now," said Amberly Moore, who dated Maples for nearly four years. Moore describes him as a sweet guy, who loved music and his motorcycle. "It's very hard for me. I love Josh so much," she said.Maples was supposed to meet up with his friends at a gas station late last night. When he didn't show up, they became concerned. They called his phone nearly 20 times and then searched for him for several hours. This morning, authorities notified family members about the wreck. We spoke with Maples' father just moments after he heard the news."He was a great kid, ambitious. Everybody liked him," said Johnny Maples.Coincidentally, a mobile home in New Market that belonged to Maples' grandmother was destroyed in a fire Sunday morning.
