Greeley, CO : Alcohol suspected in crash that killed 2 teens near Weld County roads 66 and 39 on Saturday, 25th April, 2020

Two teens are dead after a crash late Saturday night northeast of Greeley.

Police responded about 11:30 p.m. Saturday to the crash near Weld County roads 66 and 39.

An 18-year-old man driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado south on Weld 39 went off the right side of the road about a quarter-mile south of Weld 66, according to Sgt. Blake White, a public information officer for the Colorado State Patrol. The truck rolled after entering the ditch, ejecting both the driver and a 17-year-old male passenger.The roof of the truck hit a utility pole and came to rest on its wheels. Both the driver and the passenger died.

White said alcohol and excessive speed are being considered as possible factors in the crash. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.The Weld County Coroner’s Office has not yet publicly identified the driver nor the passenger.
