An Archdale man is in critical condition in a Greensboro hospital from injuries in a one-car accident on U.S. 220-Business Sunday afternoon.
Chad Vanamburg, 25, was transported to Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital following the wreck at 5:47 p.m., said Trooper B.H. Pike of the N.C. Highway Patrol.
Vanamburg was northbound on the two-lane road at an estimated 80 mph, just north of Caudle Road, when his 2001 Honda ran of the road to the right and struck a ditch, then a utility pole, and overturned. Vanamburg was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Charges are pending.
The road was blocked for several hours as crews repaired utility lines knocked down due to the accident.
