Miami-Dade, FL : 3 Weston residents killed in Miami-Dade crash in the northbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway (State Road 826) near Northwest 58th Street on Sunday, 8th March, 2020

A violent crash on a major Miami-Dade highway killed three young people from Broward and left two others hospitalized with serious injuries.
The crash happened about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway (State Road 826) near Northwest 58th Street.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, five people were in a black Volkswagen that went out of control, left the road and crashed into trees and bushes off the highway. Two passengers were ejected and died at the scene while a third person who died was inside the car, FHP said.
The agency identified those who died as Diego Ortiz, 21, Shelley Rapp, 20 and Daniela Hernandez, 21, all of whom lived in Weston.
