RICHLAND COUNTY, SC : Highway Patrol investigating fatal early morning I-20 crash on Sunday, 11th September 2016
Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating a deadly early morning crash.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. Sunday morning on I-20 West at mile marker 79, near the Clemson Road exit.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has identified the victim as 63-year-old Loman Quillen Jr., of Columbia.
Troopers reported, the car Quillen was driving was hit from behind by a pickup truck, which forced both vehicles off the right side of the road. Troopers said Quillen was not wearing a seat belt and died on scene.
The driver of the truck and their passenger were not hurt. No charges have been filed.
South Carolina Highway Patrol's Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate this crash.
