Littleton, MA : Man seriously injured in motorcycle crash on I-495 in Littleton on Monday, August 22, 2016
State police on Tuesday morning identified the driver seriously injured in a Monday motorcycle crash on Interstate 495 as a 56-year-old man from Pembroke Pines, Florida.
The man was flown by medical helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. An update on his condition was not immediately available, according to Trooper Dustin Fitch.
State police were called to the crash near Exit 30 on I-495 North around 2 p.m.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Fitch said.
The man was the only rider on the motorcycle, which was a 2001 Honda, Fitch said. No other cars were involved.
This crash was one of at least 12 on I-495 and Route 2 in Littleton since the beginning of the year, according to a Sun compilation of local and state police information.
A Billerica family traveling to Six Flags in Agawam crashed on I-495 South near Exit 31 on Aug. 4 when a tractor-trailer collided with their car, seriously injuring a woman in the front passenger seat.
On July 15, an East Boston man was killed when the truck he was driving crashed near Exit 30 on I-495 North.
