Clinton, MS : Two teens were killed when their pickup truck was crushed between two 18-wheelers at westbound lane of I-20 On Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016

Two teens were killed Tuesday afternoon when their pickup truck was crushed between two 18-wheelers. Seventeen-year-old Austin Thomas of Raymond and 18-year old Tanner Gardo, also of Raymond, were killed in the accident in the

westbound lane of I-20 in a construction zone.

Corporal Eric Henry with the Mississippi Highway Patrol tells us one of the 18-wheelers struck the rear of the pickup truck while it was stopped in the zone, causing it to hit the rear of the second 18-wheeler that was also stopped.

Both Thomas and Gardo were killed on the scene. According to posts on the school's Facebook page, both were students at Central Hinds Academy.

One 18-wheeler driver was taken to Merit Health with minor injuries. The other driver was also injured and taken to UMMC.

Clinton Police are investigating the accident. The Mississippi Highway Patrol assisted with the crash.
