A 77-year-old Kansas motorist was killed Sunday night in a collision near a southeast Nebraska highway intersection.
Gary Barton of Haddam was pronounced dead at the scene, which was a half-mile north of the intersection of Nebraska Highway 50 and U.S. Highway 136 near Tecumseh, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said.
Officials found that a northbound 1996 Chevrolet Corsica driven by Barton crossed the center line and collided with a southbound 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Clark Gartner of Tecumseh.
Gartner was wearing a seat belt and was not injured; Barton was not restrained, the Johnson County Attorney’s Office said.
