Chatham, IL : Eight people injured in CTA bus crash in the South Side Chatham on Monday morning, May 9, 2016

Eight people were taken to hospitals after a vehicle and a CTA bus collided Monday morning in the South Side Chatham neighborhood.

A No. 4 Cottage Grove bus was heading southbound in the 8100 block of South Cottage Grove when a northbound vehicle crossed into the path of the bus at 8:45 a.m., according to CTA spokesman Jeff Tolman. Five people on the bus, including the driver, were injured.

Eight people, all adults, were taken to hospitals from the crash, according to Fire Media Affairs.

One person was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to Fire Media. Seven others in fair-to-serious condition were taken to South Shore Hospital, Trinity Hospital, University of Chicago Hospital and Jackson Park Hospital.
