Carver Park, OR : Driver killed in rural Clackamas County crash on Wednesday, 27th January 2021

One woman was killed and another was injured Monday when a car crossed into oncoming traffic south of Carver, officials say.

Veronica Zearing, 52, of Portland died after the car she was driving hit a car traveling the opposite direction on South Springwater Road near Carver Park, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the other driver, 62, sustained fractures and cuts in the crash. A dog in that car also died.

Blood tests determined Zearing had some stimulants, including methamphetamine, in her system at the time of the crash, but the tests did not conclude whether she was impaired, the sheriff’s office said.
