Augusta,ME : Driver in fatal crash jailed again for violating probation on April, wednesday 3rd 2017

A Maine woman who pleaded guilty in a 2014 fatal car crash is being sent back to jail for violating her probation.

The Kennebec Journal reports (http://bit.ly/2qDgcch ) 25-year-old Alyssa Marcellino, of Winthrop, will serve six more months for drinking, using drugs and failing to do required community service.

Marcellino acknowledged probation violations but asked the judge for another chance. Her attorney noted that she does not face any new charges related to the violations.

Marcellino’s probation officer recommended the six-month term, saying she could no longer manage Marcellino outside of jail.

Marcellino pleaded guilty in 2015 to causing a death while her license was suspended or revoked. The head-on collision killed 67-year-old Joan Fortier, of Mount Vernon, and seriously injured Fortier’s sister.
