Las Vegas, NV : 19-year-old motorcyclist dies in collision with car on Washington Avenue on Thursday, February 18, 2016

A 19-year-old motorcyclist was killed Thursday after colliding with a car making a left turn, according to Metro Police.

The motorcycle was west on Washington Avenue, approaching the intersection of Smith Street, when the car, headed east, attempted to make a left turn in front of the motorcycle, police said.

The motorcycle crashed and slid into the car, police said. The rider, whose name was not released, was taken to University Medical Center and pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, who suffered minor injuries, remained at the scene, police said.
