IMMOKALEE, FL : The driver of a semi-truck that crashed into a farmworker on April, tuesday 18th 2017

The driver of a semi-truck that crashed into a farmworker bus carrying 60 people was cited by Florida Highway Patrol Tuesday afternoon.

Chee Chea, 55, of Brooklyn, New York, was ticketed for careless driving.

It happened at the corner of SR-29 and Oil Well Park Road – about six miles north of Alligator Alley.

Florida Highway Patrol said the bus was heading southbound on SR-29 slowing down to turn onto Oil Well Park Road. A semi behind the bus wasn't able to stop and swerved left to avoid the bus but hit its left side as the bus was turning.

The bus driver was transported to Lehigh Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

The northbound lanes were blocked for a time after the crash but have since cleared.

Multiple crews were on the scene, including Immokalee Fire and Rescue.
