Reno, NV : One person dead after rollover crash on U.S. 395 near Red Rock on Tuesday evening, June 16, 2015
One person was killed Tuesday night after a vehicle that failed to stop at a posted stop sign was struck by another vehicle causing it to rollover.
The crash happened just after 7 on Tuesday evening on U.S. 395 at the Red Rock Boulevard exit.
According to a Patrol Sergeant Duke Steffens with Reno Police, the passenger of the exiting car was ejected from the vehicle died at the scene. The driver of the exiting car was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital, their condition is unknown. There were also three dogs inside that same car. Steffens say they are now in the care of Washoe County Animal Control.
Circumstances leading to the crash are still unknown. Steffens was not able to confirm to News 4 whether or not the deceased was wearing a seatbelt, or if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
The driver of the car that struck the exiting vehicle was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
Reno police officers continue to investigate the crash.
