A Fenton man facing second-degree murder charges for a May crash that killed five people will have his case reviewed for possible trial.
Matthew J. Carrier, 21, was scheduled for a Sept. 21-22 preliminary examination when he appeared in court Wednesday, Aug. 23 in Livingston County's 53rd District Court, according to the court records.
He faces 19 felony charges in the May 9 crash at the intersection of Argentine Road and M-59 in Oceola Township.
Outside the courthouse Wednesday, Livingston County Sheriff's deputies briefly detained a victim's father after he made a gesture - drawing his thumb across his neck - toward Carrier's mother, according to a report by the Livingston Daily.
