MADISON, WI : Driver charged in crash that killed 4 on Friday, December 30th 2016

Prosecutors filed 15 felony counts Friday against a Wisconsin man accused of killing four people in a drunken, wrong-way crash last month.

The charges against Brysen Wills of Waunakee include homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, reckless homicide and operating a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration causing great bodily harm. Online court records did not list an attorney for Willis as of Friday afternoon. No court date had been set.

According to a criminal complaint, Willis was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 in his SUV, forcing other drivers to swerve to avoid him.

The Wisconsin State Patrol estimated Wills, 33, was traveling as fast as 93 mph during one stretch. As a state trooper pursued Wills by traveling parallel to him in the westbound lanes, he collided head-on with two cars in the town of Deerfield. The impact tore the roof off one car and left the other overturned in the median.

Three people in the overturned vehicle — Clenton Hall, Kimberly Radtke and Katey Pasqualini — were killed. They worked for a Milwaukee accounting firm and were returning from a networking event at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. A fourth person in the car, co-worker Brian Falk, suffered multiple injuries.

The other driver, Patrick Wasielewski, also was killed.

Wills’ blood alcohol concentration about two hours after the crash was .184 percent, more than twice Wisconsin’s 0.08 percent limit for driving, the complaint said.

Court documents said state troopers found several beer cans scattered around the road and a box for a case of Miller Lite on the passenger seat of Wills’ vehicle. The documents said Wills was drinking at a Sun Prairie bar for more than an hour before the crash.

Wills previously was convicted of operating while intoxicated in Missouri, once in 2002 and again in 2003, according driver records attached to the complaint.
