NASHVILLE, TN : 4 hospitalized in multi-vehicle crash on I-40 on Saturday, 28th September 2024

Four people went to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on I-40 on Saturday, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).

TDOT SmartWay cameras showed a red pickup truck hydroplaning into the center wall on I-40 East near mile marker 205 during a period of rain. The truck was then hit by another vehicle hydroplaning into it.

The cameras showed people getting out of the crashed vehicles, before a third vehicle hydroplanes into the second one, pushing it against the truck.

A TDOT spokesperson said four people were taken to the hospital as a result of the three-vehicle pileup.
