CHICO, CA : 2-car crash on Mangrove Avenue sends man to hospital with major injuries on Thursday, 3rd August 2023

A two-car crash on 3rd and Mangrove Avenue sent a man in his 70s to the hospital with major injuries Thursday afternoon, according to the Chico Police Department.

Police said a male in his 70s was driving a motorcycle northbound on Mangrove when he collided with a female in her 80s.

The female was driving southbound on Mangrove and attempted to make a left-hand turn, police said. Both drivers had green lights, but the female driver failed to yield and turned left in front of the motorcyclist.

The crash happened at about 1:10 p.m., according to police.

The motorcyclist sustained major injuries, but is in stable condition at a local hospital, according to police.
