Anacortes, WA : A pedestrian was killed when a semi-truck on Wednesday, June 21, 2017

A pedestrian was killed when a semi-truck making a left turn at the Commercial Avenue and 12th Street intersection about 3:15 this morning struck the female victim, according Sergeant Keith Leary of Washington State Patrol.

Details of the incident are still unclear and it is not known if the pedestrian was in the crosswalk or attempting to cross when the semi began the turn, Leary said.

The driver of the truck, which was under contract with FedEx, had no impairment at all, Leary said. There was no identification on the woman. Her identification will have to wait on a coroners report, he said.

All lanes of traffic were blocked for about three hours following the incident.
