Lenoir, NC : Seven people injured after school bus crash on Morganton Blvd in Lenoir on Thursday morning, February 19, 2015

Seven people, including six middle school students, were on board a school bus that was hit by car that police say ran a red light Thursday morning.

According to Lenoir police, the crash happened along the intersection of Fairview Drive and Morganton Blvd in Lenoir around 10:17 a.m.

Officers say the diver of the car failed to stop for a red light striking Bus 106, from Gamewell Middle School, in the left rear area.

Six students, from Gamewell Middle, were on board the bus at the time of the crash, two of them were transported to the hospital for "precautionary measures." Police say they were released with very minor injuries.

The driver of the car was also transported to the hospital for medical evaluation and investigators say possible charges are pending.
