Unity, NH : Three teens were dead and one left with life-threatening injuries in single-car crash on early Sunday morning August 10th 2014
Three teens were killed and another was left with life-threatening injuries when their vehicle left West Unity Road early Sunday and struck a tree, according to a statement from New Hampshire State Police Troop C.
Troop C was notified of the accident at 2:10 a.m. According to the press release, a black 1997 Saab 9000 was traveling northbound on West Unity Road at a high-speed rate. The 17-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle and drove off the roadway. The vehicle then struck a tree, splitting it in half. Claremont New Hampshire resident Brittany Bailey, 18, received and succumbed to life-threatening injuries on scene. The driver and another 17-year-old occupant also received life-threatening injuries and died on scene.
A fourth passenger, who is also 17 years old, received life-threatening injuries but was transported from the scene.
The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is handling the crash investigation, along with members of Troop C. The Unity and Lempster fire and rescue departments also assisted on scene. According to the statement, it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, however speed is a factor. It remains under investigation by the State Police CAR unit.
