Nashville, TN : Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle near Dover Glen Drive in south Nashville on Monday, December 21, 2015

Police said a woman was hit and killed as she crossed Murfreesboro Pike to get to a bus stop.

The crash happened near Dover Glen Drive around 5:30 a.m. Monday.

The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Vulet Gaurge. Police said she was crossing the street in the rain when she was hit by a car driven by 27-year-old Samuel Wolf.

Police said Gaurge was carrying an umbrella which may have obstructed her view of traffic. She was not in the crosswalk.

No charges have been filed against the driver. Police say visibility played a big role in the crash because it was raining.

According to police, there was no indication or alcohol or drug involvement on the part of either person.
