Police arrested an Old Forge man on suspicion of DUI after his SUV collided head-on with a car driven by a pregnant woman Friday night, police said.
Michael Faris, 31, was driving his 2008 Pontiac in the 600 block of South Keyser Avenue when he struck a parked Ford F-150, veered into oncoming traffic and hit Maylanna Alfama’s 2006 Kia sedan, Taylor police Officer Brian Holland said. Alfama’s vehicle then struck a utility pole, splitting it in half, he said.
Alfama, 23, was taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center and released. There were no injuries, but the three vehicles were severely damaged, Holland said.
Police arrested Faris on suspicion of DUI. He could be charged with DUI pending a lab analysis, Holland said.
