An elderly man who had been riding a bicycle was badly injured in a collision with a car here earlier today.
At approximately 8:59 a.m., troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop A barracks responded to a motor vehicle versus bicycle accident on Sanborn Road at the intersection of Evergreen Drive in Hampton Falls.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2014 Audi A7 driven by Thomas Jones, 49, of Hampton Falls, was traveling east on Sanborn Road.
A bicycle, being ridden by David Stone, 81, of Exeter, exited Evergreen Drive onto Sanborn Road and collided with the Audi.
Stone sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he is being treated.
It was necessary to close Sanborn Road in the area of the accident for approximately an hour and a half.
Assisting state police at the scene was the Hampton Falls Police Department, the Kensington Police Department, and the Hampton Falls Fire Department.
