Port Charlotte, FL : A 74-year-old Punta Gorda man died in a motorcycle crash on Tuesday, November, 28th 2017

A 74-year-old Punta Gorda man died in a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon, according to the Punta Gorda Police Department. Police responded to the crash at the intersection of Burnt Store Road and Royal Poinciana around 4:45 Tuesday afternoon.

The Punta Gorda Fire Department and Charlotte County EMS also responded to the scene and immediately began providing medical aid to the motorcyclist, Dennis Michael Mortiz, of the 200 block of Lido Drive in Punta Gorda, who was subsequently transported to Bayfront Health Punta Gorda. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later, police reported.
