SHELBY COUNTY, KY : 1 killed, 1 injured in Shelby County crash on Wednesday, 14th August 2024

One person is dead and another was taken to University of Louisville Hospital after a crash happened in Shelby County.

First responders were called on Wednesday just before 7:40 p.m. to a collision involving two cars on Elmburg Road at the Benson Pike intersection.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said one drivers died after being thrown from their vehicle and the other driver is expected to survive. The drivers were the only ones in their cars.

The driver who was killed in the crash has been identified by the Shelby County Coroner’s Office as Christopher Burgan of Bagdad, Kentucky.
