Burke,NC: One person killed and another injured after pick-up truck crash near Hartland Road on Thursday June 2,2016.

One person was killed and another critically injured in a crash in Burke County early Thursday morning.
Troopers say a Toyota pick-up truck was heading south on Hartland Road when it hit a curve, went off the road and hit a tree. The passenger, 54-year-old Richard Church, died at the scene.
The driver, 28-year-old Leon Creasy was cut out of the car and sent to a hospital in Charlotte. He remains in critical condition. Troopers say a strong odor of alcohol was coming from one of the victims.
If Creasy survives, Troopers say he will face charges for driving without a license, speeding and felony death by vehicle. Creasy could also be charged with DWI.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
