Trenton, FL : Two Branford residents seriously injured in a crash on U.S. Hwy 129 in Gilchrist County on Tuesday, June 7, 2016

Two Branford residents were seriously injured in a crash on U.S. Hwy 129 in Gilchrist County Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

According to FHP, Danny Rogers Jr., 38, of Branford was traveling north on U.S. Hwy 129 around 11:40 a.m., when he experienced some type of physical/medical condition. Rogers lost consciousness and lost control of his 2004 Chevrolet Silverado.

The truck continued its path of travel in a northerly direction and passenger, Cynthia Rogers, 37, of Branford tried to maintain control of the truck, the report states.

According to the report, the truck travelled across the southbound travel lane and into the grass ditch. The truck then travelled across the grass shoulder and struck a tree with its front. The truck came to final rest after colliding with the tree.

Danny and Cynthia were transported the Shands UF in Gainesville with serious injuries.
