Caldwell County, N.C : Man killed after being struck by vehicle in Caldwell County on Thursday night, May 22, 2014

A Granite Falls man was struck and killed by a car on a dark road Thursday night in Caldwell County, according to authorities.

The accident happened at about 10 p.m. at Baker Circle and Highway 321-A.

Troopers identified the victim as Gary Lunsford, 52, of Granite Falls.

Lunsford, who was wearing dark clothes, was in the roadway when he was hit, troopers said.

Another vehicle barely missed hitting Lunsford prior to the collision, troopers said.

No charges were filed against the driver.
