Grand Junction, CO : Dump truck with dump raised crashes into I-70 overpass on Tuesday night near Dotsero on August 19, 2014
The Colorado State Patrol says a DUMP TRUCK driver was seriously injured after the raised dump on his truck slammed into an overpass on Interstate 70.
The accident happened Tuesday night near Dotsero as 53-year-old Steven Bounds was headed east on the highway.
The State Patrol says the dump broke off the truck and the truck stopped about 300 feet later.
The Daily Sentinel says the overpass near exit 133 has been deemed SAFE but the Colorado Department of Transportation continues to monitor it.
