TULLY, NY : Fatal crash on NY road leaves car pinned under truck on Saturday, September 16th 2017
Authorities say a central New York road has reopened after being shut down for hours by a fatal crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer.
State police say the accident occurred around 8 p.m. on Route 281 in the Onondaga County town of Tully, just south of Syracuse.
Troopers say a car driven by 54-year-old Wayne Mosher, of Tully, pulled into the truck’s path from a parking lot. Police say the 51-year-old man driving the truck wasn’t able to avoid Mosher’s vehicle and slammed into it.
Both vehicles came to rest on the side of the road with the car pinned under the truck.
Troopers say Mosher was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both lanes of the road were closed after the crash. The road reopened at 1:45 a.m. Friday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
