Alcohol a factor in early morning crash

Alcohol was suspected in a rollover crash on a Craven County front lawn, which sent the driver to a hospital, police said.The crash happened at the intersection of National Avenue and National Court Drive in New Bern early Friday morning. According to investigators, the driver was exceeding the speed limit when the car ran off the road, hit trees, rolled over, and rested on its side.
Police did not release the identity of the driver, but said that person suffered non-life threatening injuries. At last check, charges were pending.
